March 27, 2014 marked the christening date of Uniworld’s latest boutique ship, the S.S. Catherine. Her godmother is the iconic french actress Catherine Deneuve, praised the world over for her beauty. Deneuve was a muse for fashion designer Yves St. Laurent and was the face of the classic perfume Chanel No.5.
Deneuve said she was proud to be serving as godmother to this beautiful ship that will sail along the Rhone River in France. Uniworld is known for their stunning ships and this one is no different.
Super Ship Catherine will have 86 staterooms — five are suites and one is the Royal Presidential Suite. All staterooms have french balconies and marble bathrooms. There are rich amenities like L’Occitaine en Provence bath products and Savoir of England beds.
The ship has several communal rooms like the Bar du Leopard, which turns into a cinema. There is also an indoor swimming pool which is in a room covered in mosaics. The lobby is highlighted with a glass elevator, a waterfall feature and a stunning Murano glass chandelier.
