Celebrity Cruises builds upon the “Solsticizing” refurbishments of its Millennium Class of ships with an entirely new refurbishment designed to usher in a new level of “Modern Luxury” aboard the Celebrity Infinity and Celebrity Summit.
First there was live grass at sea, and then the Lawn Club and a unique grilling experience. Next comes the “Rooftop Terrace” – a completely new venue debuting aboard the Celebrity Infinity. The Rooftop Terrace will combine movies and food in a large outdoor space featuring a movie screen, surround sound and plenty of space for relaxing. In addition to the Rooftop Terrace venue, the Celebrity Infinity will also receive updates to the Penthouse and Royal Suites, and the existing S.S. United States specialty restaurant will also be updated and converted to the Tuscan Grille, one of Celebrity’s most popular signature dining venues. Plus, both ships will receive further updates to their Solarium, portrait studio, casino and future cruise sales office.
The Celebrity Infinity is currently dry-docked in the Bahamas undergoing these refurbishments, and the Celebrity Summit will receive her updates in March 2016. Continue reading to learn more about the key aspects of each refurbishment.
Rooftop Terrace
The brand new Rooftop Terrace venue will allow guests to enjoy a beautiful outdoor space while relaxing with family and friends. The garden-like design of the multi-functional terrace will provide flexibility to guests, whether they wish to enjoy a movie on the outdoor screen or just relax in a cabana under the decorative evening lighting. Of course, since this is Celebrity Cruises, food will play an integral role in the Rooftop Terrace. The venue will offer a variety of tasty treats presented in unique ways, each thematically consistent with the specific itinerary or evening entertainment.
Tuscan Grille
Celebrity Cruises’ guests have been big fans of the Tuscan Grille ever since it first appeared aboard the Solstice Class of ships, and we’re very excited that the Celebrity Infinity and Celebrity Summit will finally receive this Mediterranean-inspired venue. Aboard each ship, guests can expect new décor along with new Italian-inspired food and drink menus. Highlights of which include artisanal salumi, cheeses, dry-aged steaks and homemade pastas, along with wines inspired by the best of Tuscany.
Aboard the Celebrity Infinity, the former S.S. United States restaurant is being converted to the Tuscan Grille restaurant, while The Normandie restaurant will be converted aboard the Celebrity Summit. The maritime artifacts, artwork and unique décor from the former restaurants will be preserved in a special area aboard each refurbished ship. Guests departing after the refurbishments are complete with current reservations for either the S.S. United States or The Normandie will be given the first chance to cancel their reservations in order to rebook their specialty dining in the Tuscan Grille.
Suite Class Upgrades
In describing the extensive suite updates, Celebrity Cruises’ President and CEO, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, stated, “We want these suites to be so luxurious and comfortable that it’s difficult for guests to leave at the end of their vacation. We want the entire ship to turn heads.” To make this possible, every Penthouse and Royal Suite is receiving new fixtures, finishes, carpets, bed linens and more.
