MSC Cruises Reveals Cutting Edge Teen Fun aboard MSC Grandiosa

MSC Grandiosa

Set to launch in November 2019, the all-new MSC Grandiosa will feature a teen experience like never before. The first of MSC Cruises’ Meraviglia-Plus class of vessels, the ship will debut a handful of new activities aimed at teen cruisers including drone racing, spy games and an epic dance competition.

According to MSC Cruises’ children’s entertainment manager Matteo Mancini, teens (13-17 years old) now make up 40 percent of the cruise line’s young guests. Mancini explains that the increasing number of young passengers has driven up the brand’s development of “exciting new teen-focused entertainment activities.”
MSC Grandiosa’s Sportsplex venue will feature the all-new Drone Academy, where teens will be trained on piloting drones before competing in teams for a relay race. The race will challenge teams to navigate their glowing drones through a 4,000 square foot obstacle course featuring 15 high-tech obstacles. May the best pilot squad win!
The ship will also offer MSC Cruises’ first roaming spy experience, where young participants are able to follow clues throughout the ship and solve a mystery of both reality and fiction.
And the fun’s not over yet – teens will also be able to showcase their dance moves in the all-new MSC Dance Crew competition! Brought to you by Fremantle – the production company behind The X Factor and the Got Talent shows – this new epic dance contest allows teams of 12-17 year old guests to compete head to head in a battle for dance domination.
MSC Cruises also plans to launch a new teen-focused web series in 2020 titled “Cabin 12006.” The series will join the brand’s existing kids’ web series, “On board with Kelly and Kloe,” which has already attracted over five million views.
