Carnival Cruise Line has recently become the first large-scale cruise operator to partner with Clean the World, a global health organization on a mission to improve the quality of life for vulnerable communities around the world.
A global leader in water, sanitation, hygiene and sustainability, Clean the World has distributed a wide variety of hygiene products to over 127 countries worldwide. As part of the partnership, discarded soap from staterooms across the Carnival fleet will be collected and sent to a Clean the World recycling center. There, the soap will then be melted down, sanitized, and reprocessed for distribution to those in need.
Together, Carnival and Clean the World will distribute over 400,000 new bars of clean, recycled soap to impoverished countries around the globe.
Carnival has tested this initiative on several of its ships, which has proven successful, and will now expand the program throughout the entire Carnival fleet by the end of the month. Clean the World is also able to expand through this partnership, now able to reach locations in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Bermuda, and Central America all through Carnival.
