Revitalized Norwegian Dawn Returns to New York

After nearly ten years, Norwegian Cruise Line’s new and improved Norwegian Dawn has returned to its home port in New York City. As of Saturday, May 11, 2019, the newly revitalized ship has recently reopened for voyages to Florida and the Bahamas, as well as Canada and New England, for the first time out of New York City since 2010.

The ship began renovations in 2016 as a part of the Norwegian Edge Program. Norwegian Cruise Line founded this program with the vision to hold their entire fleet to a higher standard of excellence, which is proven in the refurbishment of the Norwegian Dawn. Passengers can now enjoy her updated design and decor along with several brand new restaurants and bars, including Los Lobos Cantina and The Cellars: A Michael Mondavi Family Wine Bar. On top of this, the ship’s unique Garden Villas were also remodeled, which hold the title of the largest suites in the entire Norwegian fleet.
As of this past Saturday, Norwegian Dawn has begun again to sail a mix of week-long cruises that will visit Orlando, Florida; Nassau, Bahamas; and the Cruise Line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. The ship will also visit destinations in Canada and New England including Newport, Rhode Island; Boston, Massachusetts; Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine; Halifax and Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Saguenay and Quebec City; and Saint John, Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick.
