Movies Onboard

By The Cruise Web, Inc.
You don’t have to be on land to see your favorite action star take on the bad guy or the blonde bombshell break out into song and dance, cruise ships  offer a variety of movies along with a multitude of ways to watch them.
Most cruise ships offer you the ability to watch movies from the privacy of your cabin,  but if you want that movie theater experience here is a list of some of most unique and advanced options:

  • Princess Cruises were one of the first ships to put up a giant screen. They call their big screen movie nights Movies Under the Stars and transform the pool deck into a theater with popcorn, seat cushions and special drink options.
  • Carnival’s Seaside Theater is now available on eight of their ships featuring movies, sporting events and cartoons to please everyone of the ship’s passengers.
  • Royal Caribbean has partnered with Dreamworks on a few of their ships to bring characters like Shrek and Po the Kung Fu Panda to life in new 3-D theaters. This partnership is growing too, as Voyager of the Seas will have a new theater in May.
  • Uniworld is proving that even a small ship can capture the big drama of the movies with their 20 seat, 3-D movie theater on the S.S. Antoinette.
