The rules say you shouldn’t play with your food. But it’s quite the contrary in “Qsine,” the novel restaurant introduced on Celebrity Cruises’ stylish Celebrity Eclipse last year. The award-winning venue – the first at sea to present its menu and wine list on an iPadTM – has met with such phenomenal response that Celebrity plans to add it to Celebrity Infinity during the ship’s revitalization, designed to complement the already award-winning Millennium Class ships’ style and design with some of the most popular venues on the line’s widely heralded Solstice Class ships. How do you make the best even better? Celebrity Cruises believes you break the rules, stay ahead of the curve, and provide what vacationers want most – often before they even say they want it. That belief is vividly reflected in the distinctive, luxurious, vacation-enhancing venues Celebrity will introduce on the fourth and fifth ships in its award-winning Solstice Class fleet, Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Reflection.
“We recognize that consumers’ vacation time is precious, and that’s what drives us to continually create new and unique experiences that enhance their rare time away,” said Celebrity Cruises President & CEO Dan Hanrahan. “The host of honors our Solstice Class and Millennium Class have won have been
incredible validation of that commitment, and on Celebrity Silhouette and, we’re capitalizing on the opportunity to further elevate our onboard offerings, particularly in our Solstice Class’ iconic Lawn Club, and with our wildly popular AquaClass category of accommodations and its exclusive specialty restaurant, Blu. The Cruise Web Sails on Celebrity Inaugural
A handful of Cruise Web employees recently returned from the inaugural cruise of the brand new Celebrity Eclipse. The inaugural, which sailed out of Miami, provided an opportunity for employees to experience the ship before the general public. The following employees were nice enough to share their impressions:
Adam W.
The Celebrity Eclipse is an absolutely beautiful ship. I was very impressed with the breakfast and lunch served in the Oceanview Cafe. The staff went above and beyond for the passengers during the entire inaugural cruise, and I experienced the best service ever while dining at Murano, the French specialty restaurant onboard. I also enjoyed lying on the grass on the Lawn Club, seeing the Hot Glass Show by Corning, and relaxing by the indoor pool!

Premium vacation brand Celebrity Cruises, employer of one of the world’s largest staff of sommeliers, will illuminate its extensive onboard wine program later this year when it launches its second annual “Wine Harvest Celebration.” Guests on Celebrity’s cruises departing November 1 to December 11, 2010 – the time of year just after the seasonal harvesting of grapes used to produce wine – will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of exclusive wine-related events, including those offered year-round through the cruise line’s “Celebrity Life” onboard programming series.
We see a Celebrity cruise and a wine celebration as ‘the perfect pairing,’” said Jacques Van Staden, Celebrity’s Vice President of Culinary Operations. “A high percentage of our guests are wine enthusiasts, which is why year-round, we offer up to 480 wines per sailing and a number of wine-focused Celebrity Life activities. Our fleetwide Wine Harvest Celebration is a seasonal event that gives guests yet another way to celebrate their passion as we find even more ways to celebrate wine and its role in modern society.” [Read more →]

Playing off the series of hip, high-tech “firsts” it has introduced in recent months, premium cruise line Celebrity Cruises is debuting the industry’s first self-guided art tours on an iPad®. Celebrity Cruises is itself an iPad pioneer, having become the first cruise line to present a menu and wine list on an iPad when it introduced its engaging “Qsine” specialty restaurant earlier this year.
“The response to the Celebrity iLounge and to the iPad menus in Qsine was so positive, we knew our guests would relish yet another opportunity to capitalize on the latest technology in an entertaining, enriching way,” said Celebrity’s Senior VP of Hotel Operations Lisa Lutoff-Perlo. “Celebrity’s ‘Designed for you’ platform is built on our commitment to listen to our guests and offer experiences inspired by them and their sophisticated travel desires.” [Read more →]
