Celebrity Cruises and The Cruise Web Get Festive

The Cruise Web recently partnered with Celebrity Cruises for two festivals to talk to interested travelers about Celebrity’s ships, services and itineraries.
7th Annual Wine & Food Festival – Raquel G.
I have to say that my job as a cruise consultant is pretty great… I get to talk about cruising all day long, and help people check beautiful, exotic vacation spots off of their personal bucket lists. As nice as this is to do daily in an office setting, it’s even more fun to do on the waterfront with a view of downtown Alexandria, Va. and Washington D.C.! In partnership with Celebrity Cruises, myself and my Cruise Web colleagues Lynda Lynn and Rashell O’Neal spent a recent weekend “working” the annual Food & Wine show at the National Harbor, a new hotel, restaurant and entertainment complex located right on the Potomac River.
Our tent was located at the end of the VIP dock area, and Celebrity pulled out all the stops to make us a real attraction for the attendees – we had a free photo set up using one of the giant Adirondack chairs located in the Lawn Club area of the Celebrity Silhouette, which is planted with real grass on the ship, by the way. Sitting in this chair makes anyone feel like a kid, they are so oversized! These free photos were uploaded and forwarded directly to guests to share via Facebook, Twitter or email.
The best giveaway, though, was $500 towards a seven-day Celebrity cruise won by one of the guests that stopped by our booth that weekend! We were blessed with sunny weather, and it really did feel like we were on a ship at the end of that dock with the breeze even sending up a bit of “sea spray” from the river now and again. All in all, a very pleasant way to educate people about how much fun cruising can be, and a wonderful workday to boot.
Bethesda Fine Arts Festival – Chuck B.
On Saturday, May 10th, Consultant Glenn Bonds and I had the opportunity to work in the Celebrity Cruises tent, along with representatives from Celebrity, at the Bethesda Fine Arts Festival. The response from event goers was overwhelming in regards to planning an upcoming cruise. We even awarded prizes through a prize wheel, where prizes ranged from onboard credits for their next Celebrity cruise to dinner for two onboard one of the beautiful Celebrity ships. Many other giveaways were also won and a great deal of information was exchanged. Although the rain put a damper on things for a short period of time, the crowds quickly resumed their stroll through the event when the skies cleared. It was a great time had by all!
On top of showing off the Celebrity Cruises brand, both events helped emphasize Celebrity’s commitment to bringing their guests a complete culinary and cultural experience. From their expansive onboard wine collection (and expert sommeliers) to their artistic glass blowing demonstrations, Celebrity Cruises presents cruisers with a luxurious blend of relaxation and enrichment.
