The Cruise Web and several members of BNI Prosper Alexandria answered a call for support from Lillian Cheng, President of the Alexandria Jaycees to support the USO program, “Operation USO Care Package.” Duty called early Saturday morning on July 16th at Ft. Belvoir, VA to roll up our sleeves and get to work. Four two-sided assembly lines were in place to fill packages including camouflage bags stuffed with donated supplies and items purchased with donated funds.

On Wednesday, August 10th, The Cruise Web was treated to a barbecue by Bob Rose, Business Development Manager for Royal Caribbean International. The barbecue, which celebrated the long and prosperous relationship between The Cruise Web and Royal Caribbean, allowed all members of The Cruise Web team to enjoy a beautiful summer day.
Bob Rose arranged for Steve Kevan, Pit Master for Hi-I-Que Barbecue Catering, to bring his impressive truck-pulled barbecue pit to The Cruise Web’s parking lot. As The Cruise Web waited patiently, the smell of pulled pork, roasted chicken and potato salad filled the air around the business complex. When it came time to dig-in, no one had to be asked twice. In short time, all that remained were empty plates, full bellies and messy hands – the best evidence of a successful barbecue. -
Last month, The Cruise Web’s Manager of Client Services and Group Administration, Julie Atkins, had a chance to take a much deserved break from work and see Bermuda with her daughter. After returning to the office, Julie was nice enough to share about her experience:
“I came across a great deal on the Enchantment of the Seas sailing roundtrip from Baltimore, MD at the beginning of July. Since it was leaving from Baltimore to Bermuda, I thought it would be a great idea to get away for a short 5 night break with my 3 year old daughter – and since we live in Maryland it had more appeal as we didn’t need flights. -
Oceania Cruises celebrated a major milestone on Saturday, July 16, as the line’s new 1,250-guest Riviera was afloat for the first time and moved from the construction dock to her fitting-out berth.

The “Islands of Aloha” have a special appeal as a cruise destination, and Princess Cruises is offering a choice of more than 50 sailings to the Hawaiian Islands in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. These culture-filled cruises depart from both Los Angeles and San Francisco, offering time to relax on the open ocean combined with visits to each of the major four islands in Hawaii.

Last month, The Cruise Web’s very own Lynda Lynn had the privilege of participating in a Seminar at Sea on board the Azamara Journey on a 7-night “Islands of the Mediterranean” cruise. Seminars at Sea allow consultants to familiarize themselves with different cruise lines through invaluable first-hand experiences. Lynda’s cruise was no exception so let’s go straight to the source for Lynda’s take on her experience:
“I traveled round trip from Civitavecchia visiting the beautiful ports of Bonifacio, Corsica, France – Olbia, Sardinia, Italy – Trapani, Sicily, Italy – Taormina, Sicily, Italy – and Sorrento, Italy (which included a wonderful overnight stop in Sorrento). -
This year, The Cruise Web is going that extra mile, well actually, 26.2 to be exact! Members of The Cruise Web staff are joining forces to be the first Cruise Web Running Relay Team during this year’s Baltimore Marathon!
