Everyone seems to have a bucket list these days and so do I. I created mine last year and it seems my list keeps getting longer and longer as I learn more and more about the world. I am fortunate enough to be in an industry where most of the things I have on my list, I can easily check off, and that is just what I did last month when what was supposed to be a business trip to Alaska to learn about the cruisetours offered by Royal Caribbean turned into an amazing experience.

Wow, Alaska! No picture you will ever see will do it justice. Alaska is truly a “must see” destination and if it is not on your list you should put it there immediately. The scenery is magnificent and the people are wonderful. Huge mountains – check, glaciers – check, snow – check, wilderness – check, wild life – check, history and culture – check, lots of flowers – check, excellent food – check.

The Cruise Web is working with Barry Vaudrin of Cruising Authority to give our cruisers an inside look at an Alaskan Cruise. Barry, an avid cruiser and videographer, will be on board Holland America’s Oosterdam for a week this month. The cruise will be roundtrip from Seattle, stopping in Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka and a few more ports. While on board, Barry will be interviewing officials as well as showing you the ports and the spaces aboard the ship.

By The Cruise Web, Inc. Alaska is known as The Last Frontier and nothing exemplifies that motto more than the Iditarod race, which is in its 40th year. The race pays tribute to the 49th state’s sled dogs, which helped settle the state by transporting mail, groceries and even gold across the state’s vast wilderness. […]

Alaska is the largest state in the United States, over twice the size of Texas. Yet the majority of cruises to Alaska only visit the lower sixth of the state, including the major cities along the Inside Passage. To truly experience Alaska, you need to head inland, into the wilderness and away from the coast. The best way to do this is through an Alaska Cruisetour.

by Kevin Sweigard, Senior Cruise Consultant, The Cruise Web, Inc. Alaska is one of the most scenic places on earth. Snow-capped mountains, giant calving glaciers, bald eagles, glacier-carved fjords, abundant wildlife, and quaint little towns – now that’s Alaska! It’s nature at it’s best. And the best way to see Alaska is on a cruise […]
