On Saturday, May 28, 2011 she was married to her fiance Ben Kaplan. They had a destination wedding in Pembroke Pines, Florida (just outside of Fort Lauderdale). With Lauren working in the cruise industry and having a wedding near a large cruise port, it only made sense for her to embark on a Caribbean cruise for her honeymoon. Karolina Shenton, The Cruise Web’s Manager of Marketing and Sales Operations, recently returned from an inaugural celebration aboard the brand new Seabourn Quest. Fortunately, we were able to steal enough of Karolina’s time to have her tell us about her inaugural experience, first hand:
“I recently had the opportunity to experience Seabourn’s newest ship the Quest, on her inaugural voyage from Rome (Civitavecchia) to Monte Carlo. What made this voyage even more exciting was that my mom flew in from Poland to join me!
There we were, mother and daughter aboard one of the most beautiful and well appointed ships at sea. When I first boarded, I was taken by the red carpet and champagne welcome we received by the amazing staff. Not only were we told where to find our suite; a staff member personally escorted us there. In all my cruising, that is the first time I’ve had a personal escort to my suite.
At the end of May, a few lucky Cruise Web employees received an opportunity to hang out with Ray Lewis, linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, during the “Ray’s Summer Days” fundraiser hosted by The Ray Lewis Foundation. Norwegian Cruise Line today that a second embarkation option has been added to Norwegian Epic’s seven-day Western Mediterranean itinerary sailings from April 29, 2012 through October 17, 2012. Guests will have the flexibility to begin their cruise vacation in either Barcelona, Spain or in Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy, where, starting today, a limited amount of staterooms will now be available for booking. A full range of staterooms will be offered including the two-bedroom family villa, courtyard penthouse, spa suite and studios.
Seabourn took delivery of the new 450-guest Seabourn Quest today at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy. The intimate, all-suite ship is the third vessel constructed by Mariotti for Seabourn’s fleet, completing a three-year expansion that increased the ultra-luxury line’s capacity by more than 200 percent.
