Last month, The Cruise Web’s Manager of Client Services and Group Administration, Julie Atkins, had a chance to take a much deserved break from work and see Bermuda with her daughter. After returning to the office, Julie was nice enough to share about her experience:
“I came across a great deal on the Enchantment of the Seas sailing roundtrip from Baltimore, MD at the beginning of July. Since it was leaving from Baltimore to Bermuda, I thought it would be a great idea to get away for a short 5 night break with my 3 year old daughter – and since we live in Maryland it had more appeal as we didn’t need flights.

Oceania Cruises celebrated a major milestone on Saturday, July 16, as the line’s new 1,250-guest Riviera was afloat for the first time and moved from the construction dock to her fitting-out berth.

Picture this: An endless expanse of the sea behind a lush, green lawn from the vantage point of a luxurious, private cabana. That’s what awaits vacationers who book “The Alcoves” on Celebrity Cruises’ stylish new Celebrity Silhouette, and now, those bookings can be made online.

The “Islands of Aloha” have a special appeal as a cruise destination, and Princess Cruises is offering a choice of more than 50 sailings to the Hawaiian Islands in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. These culture-filled cruises depart from both Los Angeles and San Francisco, offering time to relax on the open ocean combined with visits to each of the major four islands in Hawaii.

Cruising and fitness go together like Fred & Ginger (or a movie and popcorn… air popped without butter of course)! There was a time when everyone worried about gaining weight on a cruise vacation. They are still using word processors and those days are long gone.
Is it possible to maintain (or in some cases start) your healthy lifestyle while cruising?
ABSOLUTELY! And just to prove it, we are hosting our very own fitness theme cruise, FIT FOR CRUISING, aboard the Liberty of the Seas. On January 26, 2012, weight gain is one thing our guests need not worry about. We will disembark four nights later with renewed skills, knowledge and motivation to keep those New Year’s resolutions on track. -
For most people, the word “fitness” doesn’t come to mind when you think of a cruise vacation, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Follow some of our fitness tips and you might find that staying fit while cruising isn’t as difficult as you think.

I love, love, love working out on the treadmill while looking out at the ocean. It makes the time on the machine go by quickly! -
Last month, The Cruise Web’s very own Lynda Lynn had the privilege of participating in a Seminar at Sea on board the Azamara Journey on a 7-night “Islands of the Mediterranean” cruise. Seminars at Sea allow consultants to familiarize themselves with different cruise lines through invaluable first-hand experiences. Lynda’s cruise was no exception so let’s go straight to the source for Lynda’s take on her experience:
“I traveled round trip from Civitavecchia visiting the beautiful ports of Bonifacio, Corsica, France – Olbia, Sardinia, Italy – Trapani, Sicily, Italy – Taormina, Sicily, Italy – and Sorrento, Italy (which included a wonderful overnight stop in Sorrento). -
Since this is my first time writing our Manager’s Insight, I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Rosalind Smith, I’m Business Development Manager for The Cruise Web and it’s my pleasure to kick things off for our Fitness newsletter. Who would have thought? The most non-athletic woman alive has become one with somewhat athletic abilities and has been chosen to introduce our Fitness-themed newsletter.

Whether you think you can dance, or know you really can’t, avid and novice dancers alike will have the opportunity to show off, and hone, their dancing skills aboard Crystal Cruises’ “Big Band and Ballroom Dance” fall voyage from Lisbon to Miami. With the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra headlining, guests can waltz their way across the southern Atlantic, accompanied by the classic and retro sounds of a 20-piece live orchestra – or just enjoy the magical moves and mesmerizing music from the sidelines.
