Celebrity Cruises has teamed up with Frost Science Museum to create an engaging and educational STEM at Sea program for young cruisers! Celebrity Cruises strives to bring the natural world closer to their guests and their STEM at Sea program takes this goal to the next level. Through research, training and dedication, Celebrity has created two amazing Camp at Sea programs which allow children to ask all the questions they’ve ever had about science! The activities associated with STEM at Sea are molded for a variety of age groups, all the way from young kids to the young at heart. These intriguing STEM programs launched aboard Celebrity Equinox.
Of all the scientific topics to choose from, Celebrity’s STEM at Sea program has centered on ideas of environmental conservation. These STEM programs find ways to make tackling challenges like pollution more understandable (and even fun!) to children. There are two main Frost Science-branded STEM at Sea programs:
The first program is Microplastics, which identifies the problem of plastic pollution in our oceans. The program walks children through the plastic problem, how it can harm our planet, and how our lifestyle choices can improve the issue! Microplastics is a program that encourages healthy and sustainable lifestyle choices from a young age.
The second STEM at Sea program by Frost Science is called Power of Plankton! This is a marine biology module that explores the teeny world of plankton and other marine organisms. The program aims to teach children how important the tiniest organisms are in our own lives. Your kids will leave lecturing you on how plankton can change everything from the air we breathe to the dinner we eat!
Each of the two STEM at Sea programs have three separate activations which are about 35 minutes long. Each activation is designed for about 10-20 guests and can be done by your child or the whole family! Celebrity Cruises will provide all materials and equipment needed for the STEM at Sea program of your choice and cannot guarantee that your child will not leave as a self-proclaimed scientist.
