Viking River Cruises Holiday Cruises

Viking River Cruises Europe Photo The cities along the Danube, Rhine, Seine and Main sparkle and shine during the holiday season. If you have ever read a Dickens novel or thought about what Christmas would look like in the Victorian age, look no further than a Viking River Cruises' holiday cruise. Consider the spectacular towns of Passau or Regensburg in Germany; these towns are covered in green wreaths and twinkle from the many strings of lights that hang everywhere. You will have an amazing feeling of joy while you take in the Christmas Markets in each stop along your Viking river cruise.

Christmas Markets are wonderful, festive gatherings of local artisans who sell those unique hand made gifts that everyone is always looking for. In Europe you will get to stroll through these markets with a glass of mulled wine as you meet the artisans, bakers and candy makers who create these charming trinkets and treats.

While onboard, your Viking river ship will be decked out in decorations that evoke the holiday spirit, where gingerbread houses and nutcracker dolls are strewn about. And you'll be able to carry on your special traditions onboard with a wonderful holiday meal, and even pick up some new traditions, like making gingerbread cookies with the famous Passau recipe.

Viking River Cruises offers a variety of holiday river cruises throughout Europe, so you can see how Christmas is celebrated in several cultures and countries. But a holiday cruise doesn't mean all you'll see and learn about are Christmas related attractions and traditions. In fact, you will still get to explore the centuries of history that these important ports possess while visiting the castles, squares and landmarks that make these ports year-round attractions.

Because Viking's holiday river cruises are limited to a small period of time, they book up quick. Don't deny yourself this amazing cruise experience. Take on a new tradition this year, book a holiday cruise with Viking River Cruises.
