• Of course, one of the most exciting things while cruising near a fjord is watching glaciers create icebergs through the process of calving. Since the ocean around Greenland is considered an "iceberg highway," chances are good you'll get plenty of opportunities to take some amazing shots of these otherworldly creations.
   
• Visit the tiny Inuit village of Aappilattoq, which means “sea anemone” in Greenlandic. While there aren't a lot of activities here per se, the village itself is picturesque, and you might just catch a glimpse of a polar bear or two.
   
• Whale watching is a popular pastime, with pods of fin and minke whales easy to spot. If you're lucky, you might also spot the more rarely-seen blue whale.
   
• Experienced kayakers will enjoy the challenge of sea kayaking expeditions, a great way to get even more close to nature. Most of these are fairly challenging and are dependent on weather, but the results are well worth it.
