Muara is home to beautiful markets, outstanding museums and one of the two remaining Ruling Sultanate’s residences. Here in this small Southeast Asian city, you will find fascinating local markets, the Sultan’s Palace, the Water Village, the Jame Mosque and many parks and beaches. With so many different landmarks, landscapes and markets, there will always be another surprise at every turn. • Shop at the local markets that feature local food, crafts, herbs and plants – some of which can only be found in this part of the world.
   
• Visit the Royal Regalia Building that was built in 1992 to celebrate His Majesty, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. The palace is filled with all his gifts from state dignitaries, a replica of the throne room and much more.
   
• Explore the large Brunei Museum filled with six different galleries (a guided tour is optional, but recommended).
   
• Cruise along the waterways outside of Muara to see the Water Village, a small community built entirely on stilts above the water.
   
• Spend extra time wandering around the Water Village to explore the assortment of homes, restaurants, mosques and markets.
