Kimberley Coast Cruise Port

Kimberley Coast is the furthest region of Australia’s Kimberley land mass located in the northwestern portion of the continent. At roughly 165 square miles with 2,500 islands residing in its waters, the coast has a population around 50,000. The total landmass of Kimberley, which is one of nine western regions, is three times larger than England. The coast has a wet season and a dry season, the latter of which runs from April to October and is the region’s peak travel season. The dry season often sees temperatures between the 70s and 90s (Fahrenheit), and the beaches and forested areas are perfectly calm and approachable. There are step-sided mountains that are cut through with limestone, along with sandstone gorges and ridges that have been made soft over time due to years of monsoon abuse during the wet season. These gorges allow for further access into the mountains making them ideal spots to hike and explore.

• Cable Beach is Western Australia’s most famous beach and is said to be one of the most beautiful in the world with perfectly white sands and clear waters.
   
• Emma Gorge is an exciting and intricate hiking area that is best explored early in the day to avoid large amounts of other hikers, and the sometimes sweltering sun.
   
• Gantheaume Point is located in Broome and is a stunningly beautiful plain that offers an easy walk to a selection of beaches or a barrage of nearby climbable cliffs.
   
• Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park, which is also in Broome, is where you can see a variety of crocodiles in a guide-led tour that will get you close enough to the reptiles without putting you in danger.
