Itea is a town in the Southeastern part of Phocis in Greece. The town is also a former municipality; this was as a result of local government reforms in 2011 that made Itea town a part of the municipality of Delphi. It was declared to be a municipal unit. This municipal unit consists of the three communities, namely Itea, Tritaia, and Kirra. The town sits on the North Coast of the Gulf of Corinth. Itea town covers an approximate area of 6.305 square kilometers while the municipal unit covers an approximate area of 26.351 square kilometers. The town's population stood at an estimated 4,362 people in 2011, while the municipal unit's population was 5,888 people in the same year.
