The small town has deep maritime history, and was once home to one of the top wooden yacht building yards of the 20^th century, Robertson’s Yard. In 104 years, the yard was responsible for the construction of over 500 seaworthy vessels, including two America’s Cup competitors, most of which are still in operation today.
