Alesund, Norway is the largest town on the Northwest coast, boasting a spectacular setting that is built on three islands close to the ocean with a backdrop of large mountain peaks. The center of the town was tragically burned to the ground in 1904, but made for a great chance to rebuild with a new artsy feel that you can enjoy on your cruise to Alesund, Norway. The town was rebuilt with very unique architectural style, majorly significant from 1890-1910, with a myriad of turrets, spires and medieval ornaments.
