It is also the most populous city of Uttah Pradesh and is located near the River Yamuna. The Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shahjahan as a memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The mausoleum is a mirror image on all four sides and took two decades to build.
