Maybe it's the culture. Maybe it's the people. Maybe it's the history. Maybe it's the food. Whatever the reason, Europe, from the Norwegian Sea to the Black Sea and all points in between, seems to draw people from across the globe. This great shot of The Colosseum in Rome was snapped by our own Heather W., during one her many visits to Europe.

President's Message Celebrating 15 Years in Business
Cruising Europe
Born in the U.S. to a young mother from Sweden, who frequently travelled back across the Atlantic, I developed an affinity for Europe from a very young age that has kept me going back for more.
Given the costs and logistical planning needs that accompany most trips to Europe, I know that I have indeed been privileged to have experienced so many amazing memories there. Whether it's walking the historic ruins of Athens, lying with my toes in the surf of the beautiful Cote D'Azur, or enjoying a romantic gondola ride on the canals of Venice, I discover new treasures every time I visit.
Today, cruise vacations offer a value and convenience that makes travel to Europe possible for so many more people, and also makes repeat visits, from those of us who have been before, much easier.
So whether a cruise is your first, or twenty-first, trip to the old country, I trust that you will find treasures as memorable as mine!
Frans G. Hansen
President

Favorite Itinerary: Places she hasn't been yet.

This month's employee profile features our very own European, Karolina Shenton. Karolina is our Manager of Marketing and Sales Operations and comes to us from a little town between Warsaw and Cracow, Poland. Karolina came to the United States seven years ago after she completed her dual Masters in Marketing & Management, and International Economics.
Karolina is responsible for maintaining our website and managing our blog and newsletter. Whenever you see The Cruise Web brand, you can thank Karolina and your personal cruise consultant.
What does Karolina miss most about her homeland? "I miss my mom's pirogues and my dad's weekend Sudoku challenge." Is there anything you don't miss? "Yes," said Karolina, "I don't miss the 7 months of winter that you have to endure in central Europe. In fact they already have snow! They've gotten 20 centimeters."
Karolina still makes it back to Poland once a year and her family and friends come over to the United States whenever possible. Karolina can expect a larger flow of relatives and friends coming to visit in the near future, as she is 7 months pregnant and due in January!
The Current Spotlight: Europe's Hidden Gems
Regardless of how many times you cruise Europe, you really never see it the same way twice. With so much history and culture and food to experience, each cruise offers a completely different experience, even if the itinerary is the same!
But the true way to experience Europe is by finding those "off-the-beaten-path" places that enable you to experience the culture (and usually food) of the area without all the tourist traps.

Top 10 Reasons to Take a Cruisetour in Europe
by Heather W., Sales Manager
Two years ago I was fortunate enough to take the tour portion of a Europe Cruisetour offered by one of our preferred partners. Beyond the sights, sounds, smells and tastes I encountered, what struck me the most was how much value was incorporated in the tour portion of the Cruisetour.
For those of you not familiar with Cruisetours, a Cruisetour is a cruise plus a land tour of a specific region which occurs before or after a cruise.
