Photo Highlight
We hope you enjoy this month's Current Newsletter as we celebrate small ship cruising! Big ships certainly have their place, but nothing compares to the atmosphere and service found aboard the industry's smaller ships. This month's photo highlight comes courtesy of Silversea Cruises and shows two guests being welcomed aboard with champagne!

Small Ship Cruising!
I've been on several small ships and it never really occurred to me why, but they always seem to have that "little something extra" that's hard to put my finger on. As I look back on my cruising experiences, I realize that it isn't any one thing in particular, but rather a combination of little factors that always seems to enhance my cruising experience. This month we'll be exploring the benefits of smaller ships. From super personalized service to access to unique ports, small ship cruising is a great way to go.
First and foremost, small ships are able to fit into ports that the big ships cannot. A few years ago I cruised aboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises' Seven Seas Voyager in the Baltic Sea and we ported right in St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Helsinki, Finland. All of which were fantastic and delivered right to my balcony doorstep thanks to the smaller ship.
Yes, cruising is renowned for its service and even the mega ships excel at it. However, when you have a crew serving just half or even a quarter the number of guests found on the big ships, they are able to really get to know you and your preferences. Now that's service!
Always personal, always engaging and never boring, small ships deliver an experience unlike anything you'll find on a big ship. Try small ship cruising and have a standout experience where you aren't just treated special, you are special!

Every once in a while, we are fortunate enough to gain a person custom built for cruise consultation. This month's Employee Profile, Sherry Jefferson, has been at The Cruise Web for six years and has fit the bill like a white glove on a formal night.
Sherry came to us after 12 years in the entertainment industry. There she worked with movie studio representatives to distribute movies to various retailers. "I loved that industry," says Sherry. "It was very relationship focused. It was a fun product - sometimes I'd be watching 20 movies in a weekend - and my clients were like family to me." Sherry adds, "Each of my clients were unique and wanted different types of movies. I had to make sure they got the right fit." It's this experience that makes her such a hit with her cruise clients. She agrees that while the product has changed for her, the concept stays the same: listen to your client, build long lasting relationships, and find the right fit.
Now, six years later, Sherry is a cruise expert. She's been on over 15 cruises and has grown as both a cruiser and a traveler. She's learning more and more about what the right "fit" is for her vacation palette. Over many years of cruise travel, Sherry has developed a taste for small ship cruising. "I like being a big fish in a small pond, versus the other way around when I travel." It's the intimacy and the personal attention that makes Sherry's travels special. "I love how easy it is to make friends on a small ship. I enjoy the personal connections, both with the passengers and the crew. It's amazing to me when it seems like the entire ship's staff knows you by name."
Sherry stays with that concept on her next cruise vacation - a river cruise on the Rhine from Amsterdam to Basel. And what timing... our next newsletter's theme is River Cruising! Stay tuned to learn more about Sherry's river cruise adventures.

My Evolving Travel Tastes
By Brandon Biss, Senior Cruise Consultant
During my 9 year career at the Cruise Web, I have built quite a cruise resume. I have experience traveling with most of our partner cruise lines: short cruises and long ones, the Caribbean and Europe, mainstream and luxury. When I first started, I took advantage of any opportunity that came across my desk. Like many of my clients, I got the cruise bug! Not only did I enjoy cruising, but I felt that it was important to experience as many cruises as possible so I may best advise my clients.
Just like many other things in life, my travel tastes have evolved with my different experiences. Selecting a cruise is...
