A great way to plan a vacation is by creating a bucket list of all the things you'd like to do before you kick the bucket. Whether you're trying to conquer a rock climbing wall or Mt. McKinley, cruising provides an excellent way to work through a bucket list. This month's photo gallery showcases employees who were able to complete a few of their own bucket list items. This photo in particular was submitted by Karolina S. of The Cruise Web. Thanks to this experience she was able to cross "SCUBA Diving" off of her bucket list.

The New Bucket List
In Rob Reiner's film The Bucket List, Jack Nicholson's and Morgan Freeman's characters meet in a crowded hospital room, having just been diagnosed with terminal illnesses and prognoses of less than a year to live. The two become unlikely friends, and set off together to climb the Pyramids, traverse the Great Wall of China, safari in Africa, and share all the things on their list before they "kick the bucket!"
With respects to legends Reiner, Nicholson and Freeman, and to those who have actually lived out final year bucket lists, I have to argue that this is the 'old' way about a Bucket List! The New Bucket List concept is quite different... and it's ageless! First of all, very few of us are given one year's 'advance notice' on our life expectancy, and then also have the time, resources and health, to knock off a list of 20 worldly pursuits in under a year. Additionally, beginning with the instant we are born, our time here starts ticking away. Thus, now is the time to live our dreams. Now, everyone, whether 25 or 85, should put together a proper Bucket List and start checking off at least one item per year!
I can't say whether People magazine will officially recognize the New Bucket List as the official in way of the times, but I can tell you that this is what I am doing. Although I am fortunate enough to be as healthy as I've ever been, have no plans or expectations of dying anytime soon, and would never admit to being a day over 29 and 3/4, I've been aggressively tackling my own Bucket List... Employee Profile

Jarren Matthews: Senior Cruise Consultant
Jarren Matthews
Senior Cruise Consultant
Favorite Itinerary: Mediterranean Sea
Hobbies: Football, Redskins
Bucket List of Food: Pulled pork, Fettuccini Alfredo, a good sirloin (any Brazilian steak house)
This month's employee profile features a consultant who is truly an expert in helping his clients make their Bucket List dreams a reality. Jarren Matthews came to The Cruise Web as a referral from one of our company's Managers. Before coming to The Cruise Web, Jarren sold knives. And while selling cruises is much different than selling knives, Jarren dove right into the travel industry, built upon his prior sales experience and quickly earned the respect and trust of hundreds of cruisers.
"I think people book their cruises with me because I genuinely have their best interests in mind," exclaims Jarren. "My favorite part of the job is making my clients happy. Such as finding upgrades, saving them money and recommending the perfect cruise. The most satisfying part for me is when my clients trust me enough to send their family and friends to me for their cruise plans."
What's on Jarren's personal bucket list? "In the number one spot? A World Cruise, but that will have to wait until I accumulate 130 vacation days, which may take a while. Second on my bucket list is a 32-day Hawaii and Tahiti cruise out of Los Angeles. And my third choice is a Mediterranean cruise." Jarren will take care of his third bucket list item in the fall when he does a 14-day Mediterranean cruise from Venice to Barcelona. Once he completes that cruise, an Australian sailing will move into the number three spot on his list. It's always exciting to complete bucket list items and we're glad to see Jarren making a dent in his list!

Cruise Through Your Bucket List
By Brandon B., Senior Cruise Consultant
Last year I turned the Big 3-0. I instantly became "old" to my 16 year-old sister. I celebrated with my family and friends. After absorbing a few "you're so old" jokes, I took some time to evaluate my life. I realized how fortunate I am. I have wonderful friends and family, a great career, and a very fulfilling life outside of work. At this time, I made some goals for myself. Some are very attainable, and some a little more far-reaching. I guess you could call it my own bucket list. I always thought that term was designated for my grandparents or those fulfilling their dreams during the twilight of their lives. However, everyone has ambitions and dreams...
