It was no joke that on April 1, Rosalind Smith, The Cruise Web’s Business Development Manager, prepared 80 servings of macaroni and cheese. All that cheesy goodness was served at an event held by Martha’s Table, which is an organization that seeks to improve the life of Washington, DC’s at-risk population by providing food, clothing and educational and enriching opportunities. On March 30, 2012, Dennard Melton, Sales Recruiter for The Cruise Web, was wed to Christina Nochera in an intimate wedding in Baltimore, MD. The wedding was followed by a reception in the Capital Grille’s elegant Johns Hopkins dining room.
The newlyweds left the next day to celebrate their honeymoon with, you guessed it, a cruise! And what could be better to follow an intimate wedding than a cruise with nearly 2,500 of their “closest” friends? The couple’s honeymoon cruise departed from Baltimore and sailed to Port Canaveral before making its way to Nassau and CocoCay in the Bahamas. Highlights from their cruise include the surprise “Romance Package” provided by their friends at The Cruise Web and the romantic horse and buggy ride in Nassau.
Congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish you all the best.

On March 20, 2012, The Cruise Web hosted a “Potluck-O-Gold” luncheon to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! The celebration may have come a few days late, but you wouldn’t have known based on the office atmosphere. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, employees prepared and contributed their best green and gold dishes. Throughout the luncheon, our judging panel sampled each dish in order to determine the best green dish and best gold dish at the event. After much deliberation, the panel named the winners…
The winner of the “Best Green Dish” award was Mike Harris for his green buffalo chicken dip. The “Best Gold Dish” award went to Janie Monier for her chipotle jalapeño spoon bread. Both dishes were huge hits and earned their chefs Visa gift cards. Congratulations to Mike and Janie!
While Mike and Janie may have been the only ones to take home awards, all of the dishes were excellent and, in reality, everyone wins when The Cruise Web holds a potluck. [Read more →]

Last month, The Cruise Web’s very own Lynda Lynn and Rashell O’Neal had the joy of cruising aboard the MSC Poesia on a 4-night Bahamas cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In addition to enjoying a much deserved vacation, the two Cruise Consultants also received some firsthand education on the cruising experience aboard MSC Cruises. Continue reading as both Lynda and Rashell were nice enough to share their experiences:
“I had a wonderful time aboard the MSC Poesia. MSC Cruises presents a nice cross between contemporary and premium cruising and the ship is elegantly appointed. The European décor was contemporary, but tasteful and classy. The public spaces were larger than can be found on most ships and made for a lot of fun dancing and hanging out. The food was great and there was plenty of variety. We also enjoyed some very, very good sushi at the ship’s a-la-carte sushi bar. [Read more →]

On Saturday, March 3rd, The Cruise Web’s management team swung over to Arthur Murray Studios in Columbia, MD for an exclusive Managers’ Ballroom Dance group lesson and practice party. The afternoon lesson was led by three instructors and included a special in-studio break with sandwiches, drinks and snacks.
In addition to teaching some new dance moves, the lesson provided a practical metaphor for working with our clients. “It is not enough to take the right steps – you have to also take those steps in harmony with the client,” stated The Cruise Web’s President and founder, Frans Hansen. “Fast steps, slow steps, big steps, small steps, bouncy steps and smooth steps – whatever it is, we and our clients need to step together and in harmony!” [Read more →]
