Celebrated PBS Personalities Headline Unique Public Television at Sea Voyage.

Courtesty of Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) and Artful Travelers, a specialty travel and entertainment firm, are inviting guests to join celebrated stars of television’s Public Broadcasting System (PBS) aboard a cruise featuring insightful discussion of politics, current events and world affairs. Regent’s Public Television at Sea cruise, part of its Spotlight Series enrichment program, departs Friday, December 4, aboard the 700-guest all-suite, all-balcony Seven Seas Voyager.

Extraordinary public broadcasting personalities will speak on a variety of topics ranging from politics to world affairs during the 14-night sailing from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil through the waters of Latin America and the Caribbean to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Gwen Ifill, the moderator and managing editor of PBS’ acclaimed political program Washington Week and a senior correspondent for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, brings her insight and experience to the stage as she discusses current events, her career in the media and her acclaimed new book The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.

David Fanning, executive producer and founder of FRONTLINE, will discuss the hard-hitting and in-depth reporting featured on America’s longest-running investigative documentary series on television. Since debuting in 1983, FRONTLINE has won all of the major awards for broadcast journalism, including 39 Emmys.

Charlie Cook, leading political analyst and the publisher of The Cook Political Report, will provide front-line information and analysis on the American political landscape.

Regent’s PTVatSea cruise is offered in partnership with locally based PBS stations and Artful Travelers, which pairs the best of art, culture, entertainment and travel to create extraordinary experiences. PTVatSea guests will enjoy rare opportunities to meet and mingle with their favorite public broadcasting personalities at dinners, cocktail parties, shore excursions and other organized events during both voyages. The cruise will be highlighted by incisive, interactive panel discussions.

December 4 – 18, 2009, Seven Seas Voyager – Gwen Ifill, David Fanning and Charlie Cook highlight the 14-night voyage departing from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil that will visit Fortaleza, Brazil; Salvador de Bahia, Brazil; Bridgetown, Barbados; St. John’s, Antigua & Barbuda; San Juan, Puerto Rico and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
