In October our cruise consultants got to take a tour of the stately Crystal Symphony. The intimate luxury ship was in Baltimore getting ready to embark on an exciting voyage. Overall our consultants were extremely impressed by the décor and styling of the ship, along with the tasty food. Take a look at some of their thoughts, and if you’d like to learn more about Crystal Cruises be sure to call The Cruise Web to speak with an expert cruise consultant.
The Symphony offers one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the industry. This means you can get what you want without waiting in line. The size of the ship also allows her to dock in many smaller ports. [Read more →]

This October Cruise Consultant Alex V. surprised his girlfriend of four years, Katie, with a ring on a recent trip to New York City. The two met in 2009 through a mutual friend and just recently bought a home together near Annapolis, Md.
Alex has known for a while that Katie is the girl he wants to marry, but having just purchased a home, he knew he didn’t have the money for a proper engagement ring. However, he found out that Smyth Jewelers had a financing program and decided he could afford to do it.
After purchasing the ring, things got tricky. Since the couple live together, Alex faced suspicious looks from his fiance and had to think on his feet when Katie would question him about his odd behavior.
Alex decided to hide the receipt in the glove box of his car, but then while driving, Katie started to root around looking for a tissue. Alex had to quickly make up a small fib to get her to stop looking around, so he told her he had her birthday card in the glove box, and it wasn’t finished yet. Then when the ring came in he had to go pick it up so he told her he was going to run some errands, to which Katie asked to go along. Alex told her he wanted to do something on his own, which raised suspicion with Katie. [Read more →]

Members of The Cruise Web team got in the holiday spirit this Halloween with a wide array of costumes. This year the costumes ranged from a tacky tourist courtesy of Raquel G. to a Care Bear from Seth W. Other outfits included Serena S. as a sock monkey and Erica K. who dressed up as her tennis idol Billie Jean King.
Aside from costumes, the whole team celebrated with a spooky sub lunch hosted by Kate Otto of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. For the past few years now Kate has gotten a thrill out of visiting the office in costume and providing a delicious lunch. This year she didn’t disappoint, dressing up as Lucille Ball and decorating with orange and purple spiders, not to mention a huge cake. What’s Halloween without a treat, right?

This summer has been filled with lots of wonderful celebrations for our Cruise Web staff. One employee became a mom, another welcomed a second daughter to the world, and three tied the knot.
Brides and Groom
Senior Cruise Consultant Brandon Biss started out the wedding season by marrying his longtime girlfriend Meggie on May 25th in Pennsylvania. “I remember looking out with all of our friends and family in one room for us and feeling very lucky. It was a very emotional and humbling experience,” Brandon said. The two honeymooned in Hawaii where they visited Oahu, the Big Island, Maui and Lanai. A highlight of the trip for the two was taking surfing lessons and both being able to get up on their boards. “It was a great mix of relaxation, touring, and being active.” [Read more →]

Cruise Web Senior Consultant Jen Crivelli is raising a champion. Jen’s Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Hope, is a show dog. That means that Jen travels around the region entering Hope into American Kennel Club (AKC) shows.
The last weekend in July, Jen and Hope traveled to Salem, Virginia where Hope earned a point toward her AKC championship and was named Best of Opposite Sex, which means that the winner of Best of Breed was a male dog, and Hope was the best female dog in the breed.
Hope now has 5 points to her name, and the AKC requires 15 points for a dog to become a champion. At the age of two-and-a-half, it seems Hope is well on her way. During the shows Hope is judged against other female dogs in her breed. [Read more →]
