Cruise Ship Weddings Available at Sea

By The Cruise Web, Inc.

Weddings at Sea. Photo courtesy of Royal Caribbean InternationalFor decades, couples have decided to break with tradition and get married on a cruise or in a far away destination. Now, with Royal Caribbean, couples can actually get married while sailing in international waters. The Commonwealth of the Bahamas recently passed a Marriage Act that will allow marriages that occur in international waters to be recognized by the Bahamas.

To celebrate this new feature available on all Royal Caribbean International ships, the line is offering couples all the wonderful features of a wedding at sea for FREE,  if they book 12 or more staterooms on a 2013 itinerary that sails for five nights or longer. [Read more →]

My Cruise Ship Wedding

By Arthur Balin, Asst. Sales Manager, The Cruise Web.

I cannot believe it has already been three years since our wedding on board the Crown Princess. Looking back, I must say that it was a truly great and stress-free experience.

Bride and Groom

My wife Yelena and I knew at the onset that we did not want the big traditional wedding. Hosting such a big event and especially planning for it was not something that appealed to us. Having been in the cruise industry for a short while already, I knew how popular cruise ship weddings were. After doing some research, we agreed: there is no better way to celebrate our love than to get married in the middle of the ocean surrounded by our family and closest friends. We loved the idea as it gave us a chance to have the small, intimate wedding we wanted, allowed all of us (our guests included) to have a nice relaxing vacation, and the whole package was surprisingly affordable. Romance at Sea

By Jennifer Crivelli, Cruise Consultant, The Cruise Web.

Before “The Love Boat” ever aired its first episode in 1977, cruises have long been intertwined with romance. Understanding the important relationship between cruising and romance, today’s cruise lines provide a variety of ways to turn an unforgettable vacation into the unforgettably romantic vacation of a lifetime.

Romance in the Caribbean

Set sail to exotic destinations while enjoying the sunset over the ocean.  Enjoy a late night walk on the Sun Deck under the stars, as the moon glistens off the ocean below.  Dance the night away in one of the many onboard lounges or cuddle on the pool deck while enjoying a movie under the stars.  For those passengers still looking for that special someone, the singles meet and greet cocktail party is a great way to meet the man or woman of your dreams.  And once you step ashore, the romance begins almost immediately: a gondola ride on the canals in Venice, strolling in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or walking along white sand beaches a Caribbean Island hand-in-hand. Big Ships: Oasis of the Seas & Norwegian Epic

By Jennifer Crivelli, Cruise Consultant, The Cruise Web.

READY, GET SET, GO! The race is on to see which cruise line can launch the biggest ship with the most attractions at sea. It all began with White Star Line in 1912, who at the time decided to build the “Grandest” passenger ship at sea. Ship building has come a long way in 97 years….

In the modern era of “BIG” ships, Royal Caribbean has led the way. Each ship designed is bigger and better than the last, and traditionally, the largest ship in the industry. Royal Caribbean was the first to offer rock-climbing walls on all of their ships. In early 2005, Royal Caribbean took the “BIG” ship idea to the extreme, when they stretched the Enchantment of the Seas, adding a 70 foot section into the middle of the vessel. [Read more →]

Cruise Ship Weddings

By Jennifer Crivelli, Cruise Consultant, The Cruise Web.

Are you recently engaged?  Congratulations!  Are you dreaming of getting married on a white sand beach surrounded by crystal blue water and palm trees? Then, a cruise ship wedding is for you.

Cruise ship weddings are an incredible value!  Traditional weddings are usually very expensive.  By the time you include flowers, reception food, DJ or band, favors, invitations, tuxedos, photography, videography, etc., the bill can be quite substantial.  However, the cruise lines offer very affordable packages that include everything you will need to throw the perfect wedding!  Complete wedding packages available through the cruise lines start at around $2,000 and include your officiant, champagne toast, cake, photography service, music, and flowers for the bride and groom.
