- Visit the isolated mangrove canals of La Restinga National Park. Drive with your guide in an air- conditioned motorcoach to the launching site of the peneros, small motorized craft for four to six passengers. Here your non-English-speaking boat captain will guide you on a leisurely 30-minute cruise through the mangroves. This unique ecosystem is the nursery for myriad tropical fish, and the dense canopy above is home to a wide variety of water birds including pelicans, osprey, cormorants, ibis and the frigate bird. Once back on the motorcoach, you'll continue to the Margarita Tropical Labyrinth for a guide nature walk to see the various tropical plants and cacti that grow on this diverse island. You'll also have the chance to find your way through the manicured maze of dense ficus plants. Enjoy seasonal fruit and a complimentary beverage before continuing on to La Aldea, where you'll have a brief stop for souvenir shopping before you return to the ship.
- Visit two of Margarita's most interesting attractions, the Tacuantar Museum and Village and Los Jovos. Drive across the island, with its arid landscape and crimson-red soil, to Tacuantar Village to admire colorful crafts and historic artifacts in this uniquely rustic setting. This place is an artisan's vision of a vintage Venezuelan village, with many hand-built, mud- walled structures housing shops and a church in a pleasant desert- garden setting. You'll have ample time to enjoy this peaceful and beautiful place and its clever mix of memorabilia and craft shops. Once back on the motorcoach, you'll continue to the small plantation of Los Jovos, where you'll get an idea of what living is like in the Margarita countryside. You'll see subsistence agriculture, numerous fruit trees and some local farm animals. A sampling of fruits and juices will also be served. Your final stop prior to returning to the ship will be La Aldea, where you'll have a few minutes to shop for souvenirs.
- Take a leisurely motor cruise to nearby Coche Island for some fun and sun on the beach. Sit back and enjoy the music and unlimited beverages of your choice on a leisurely 1 1/2 hour cruise on board a comfortable, modern motorized vessel. Your boat will anchor off the beautiful unspoiled beach of Coche Island, with its white sand and calm, clear waters. Here you will have plenty of time to time, sunbathe or beachcomb. Beach chairs and umbrellas ashore are included. Then it's party time on board with music, dancing and ice-cold beverages during your cruise back to Isla Margarita.
- After boarding your chiva, a brightly colored, open-air local bus designed with a party atmosphere in mind, the music will get cranked up and you'll head toward the norther part of the island to Play Parguito. Once at the beach, the party continues with dancing, swimming, and of course, complimentary rum or soft drinks and tasty empanadas, a deep- fried snack typical of the region. Prior to your return to the ship, a stop will be made at La Aldes, where you'll have a few minutes to shop for local handicrafts and souvenirs.
- Enjoy a day at the fabulous Dunes Hotel and each Resort during your stay in Isla Margarita. After an approximately 45- minute air-conditioned bus transfer, you'll arrive at the resort. You'll have over three hours to enjoy the beautiful pools and the marvelous sand beach that's bordered with palms and tropical foliage. There are both pool and beach chairs for your use, as well as unlimited soft drinks, water, Venezuelan beer and local rum drinks. A delicious lunch buffet will also be served, and there are facilities including a shower available for your use. After your fun-filled day at the beach, you'll be transferred back to the ship.
