- WHAT YOU VISIT
Oura Catholic Church - The oldest wooden church of gothic architecture existing in Japan was built in 1865 by French missionaries. It has been designated a national treasure.
Glover Garden - Located in Nagasaki's old Foreign Settlement, the garden is named after Scottish merchant Thomas Glover and is home to a number of historic buildings. Chief among them is the 1863 Glover House, the oldest example of Western architecture in Japan. Tour the gardens and the historical buildings, some of which are furnished in period decor while others display 19th-century photographs of Nagasaki.
Museum of Traditional Performing Arts - This small museum in Glover Garden exhibits items and artifacts from Nagasaki's Kunchi Festival, one of the three great festivals celebrated in Japan.

- WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
From the pier, it is an approximately 15-minute walk uphill to Oura Catholic Church, where you enter the oldest wooden church in Japan. Visit the small museum in the church displaying historical documents of Christianity. You will then begin your approximately 90-minute walking tour of the garden. The garden also offers superb vistas of the city and the harbor.
- SPECIAL NOTES
This tour involves three hours of walking and standing; no part of this tour is conducted by motorcoach. Passengers must be in good physical condition and wear comfortable, low-heeled walking shoes.
Nagasaki is hilly; passengers must walk uphill, climb steep steps and travel across uneven surfaces. Wear comfortable, low-heeled walking shoes.
Passengers should bring local currency for purchases.
