Admire the scenic beauty of Kodiak Island as you embark on an in-depth tour of the many points of interest in and around the city of Kodiak, the first Russian settlement in Alaska.
View cannery row and the boat harbor on your drive into the city. Photo opportunities abound as you explore the area, influenced by Native American and Russian ancestry. Stop at the Baranov Museum, offering a mixture of Native, Russian and American history. Then visit the Alutiiq Museum to gain a more in-depth look at Alaska Native culture.
Cross the bridge to neighboring Near Island and visit the Alaska Fisheries Research Center, a research and development support center for Alaska's seafood industry. The aquarium and touch tank are popular among visitors. After a short drive north, enjoy sweeping views from Fort Abercrombie, a historic defense installation for the North Pacific during World War II. The site offers a bunker museum of wartime memorabilia as well as beautiful views of both land and sea.
Your last stop is the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium for a lively performance by St. Innocent's Academy. The students and band captivate you as they perform instrumental and vocal pieces, folk dances and descriptive storytelling of local Russian and Native history and legend.

Tour order may vary. On some tours, the Kodiak Island Drummers will be substituted for the performance by St. Innocent's Academy. Passengers with disabilities must contact the onboard Tour Office at least 48 hours prior to the excursion to ensure arrangements can be made to meet their particular needs.
