At the base of Sunshine Mountain, receive a safety briefing and orientation before donning your helmet and boarding your fully automatic ATV. Travel along well groomed logging roads surrounded by the towering mountains and lush forests of the stunning Alaska wilderness. At the 3,000-foot elevation stretch your legs and enjoy amazing views of the Chilkat Valley far below.
Journey to the Porcupine Gold Mine, the largest producing gold mine in the area, and learn about mining history. Visit the old Porcupine town site and return on the Dalton Trail ? one of the routes to the gold fields of the Klondike. The Sunshine Mountain road and the Dalton Trail border the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, which boast the world's largest gathering of bald eagles. Bring your camera along as brown and black bears, moose and wolves are also known to call this beautiful area home.
SPECIAL NOTES
Guests must be 16 years old and present a valid driver's license to drive ATV. Passengers may ride along at a reduced rate ($134 per person), but must be traveling and booked with a driver. Minimum age for ride-along guests is 12. Combined guest weight may not exceed 600 lbs. Dress in layers and bring rain gear and gloves. This tour is only available on the Sea Princess voyages departing 7/3/09 and 7/23/09.
Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.
Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
