  • A Tale of two Palaces: Hawaii's Royal History.
    Join this unforgettable and exciting adventure to visit the historic highlights of the 1,500-year-old Kingdom of Hawaii and to see the crown jewels of this former sovereign nation. Traveling into the lush Nuuanu Valley, you'll stop is at Queen Emma's Summer Palace, where the past comes to life. Queen Emma was the wife of King Kamehameha IV. Born in 1836, she was descended from Hawaiian chieftains and John Young, an Englishman who became a friend and advisor to King Kamehameha I. Her summer retreat contains Victorian and Hawaiian treasures, rare artifacts and personal memorabilia of Hawaii's royalty. Next, drive through a tropical rain forest en route to the world-famous Pali Lookout. The Nu'uanu Pali was the site of the Battle of Nu'uanu, one of the most important battles in Hawaiian history, in which Kamehameha I conquered the island of Oahu, bringing it under his rule. After driving through a spectacular tree-tunnel, you'll arrive at Hawaii's sacred Royal Mauna 'Ala Mausoleum - the final resting place of six of the kingdom's last eight ruling monarchs. A guided tour inside Iolani Palace, a true Hawaiian national treasure, is next. This is the only residence of royalty in the United States, and was the official residence of the Hawaiian Kingdom's last two monarchs - King Kalakaua, who built the palace in 1882, and his sister and successor, Queen Lili'uokalani. Additional landmarks of interest include the legendary King Kamehameha statue and the unique Kawaiahao Church.

  • Diamond Head Crater Hike.
    This exciting, fun and educational tour of the world famous Diamond Head Crater begins with a short introductory talk by a trained nature guide. You will learn about the fascinating volcanic creation, Hawaiian history, European discovery, the origin of the famous name, early cattle ranching, and modern day military use of the "Gibraltar of the Pacific." You'll be given a bottle of spring water; then set out with your guide on a 45-minute walk to the 763-foot summit of Diamond Head. Along the way you will stop at several points to rest and photograph the crater. Walking up stairways, going into a dark 200-foot tunnel and climbing a spiral staircase impart a sense of adventure. When reaching the summit you will encounter an incredible panoramic view of Waikiki Beach, the emerald green mountains and the sparkling aquamarine water of the Pacific Ocean below. Enjoy the scenery at the summit for 15 minutes then you'll stroll back to the crater floor. Before leaving, you will learn about Hawaii's native bird and plant species.
  • Explore & Taste Oahu's North Shore.
    This exciting tour is led by a trained naturalist, who will provide interesting information about Hawaii's birds, plants, geology, geography, history, marine biology and oceanography. It's your chance to enjoy the North Shore the way the local residents of Oahu do. From the pier you will drive to the Valley of the Temples. Here you will visit the picturesque Byodo Temple located at the base of stunning 2,000-foot lush green cliffs of the Koolau Mountain Range. Travel north along the scenic shoreline, past Chinaman's Hat (an island offshore) and Kahana Bay to Kahuku, home of the North Shore shrimp farms. Here you'll stop at one of the locals' favorite shrimp trucks for a lunch plate of delicious, locally farmed garlic shrimp, fish or chicken and Hawaiian-style shaved ice. Afterwards, a short drive will bring you to beautiful Sunset Beach, famous for towering surf during the winter months and the location of many international surf contests. Next, drive by picturesque Waimea Valley and one of the world's finest big wave surfing beaches. Continue to Turtle Beach to observe rare green sea turtles resting on the golden sand, and drive through historical Haleiwa Town, past extensive views of Hawaii's last pineapple fields en route to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. After a brief stop at the plantation you will return directly to the cruise ship pier.

    The Waikiki trolley is a fun way to explore the highlights of Honolulu with a narrated tour, and you choose which attractions to explore in depth. As you drive through downtown Honolulu, view Iolani Palace - the only royal palace on American soil. Your last stop is at Home of the Brave - a 1940s private museum full of World War II memorabilia. Before returning to the pier, you'll see the Jeep and the 1942 Army-issue Harley Davidson motorcycle used in the Disney movie Pearl Harbor.
