Marvel at vistas seen by few--high alpine lakes, "icefalls" hanging from sheer cliffs, and some of the most remote peaks and glaciers in the Juneau Icefield. Your pilot will create the best possible flightseeing based on the weather and glacier conditions. You'll land in two different locations, where you will continue the tour on foot! During these two landings, you will learn about the environmental and geological processes at work, creating moraines, crevasses, seracs, and the amazing glaciers themselves.

Taku Glacier Lodge, Feast & Flight by Floatplane

You're in for the journey of a lifetime with glacier flightseeing, a remote log lodge, wilderness trails, wildlife, and a king salmon feast. Fly in a classic floatplane over five breathtaking glaciers of the Juneau Icefield, as well as deep blue crevasses, snow-capped mountains, cascading waterfalls and lush forests. The Taku River will be your "runway" as you land at the Historic Taku Lodge, built in 1923 and located across the river from the Tqku Glacier in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. Savor a feast of baked beans, coleslaw, pioneer fruit compote, fresh herb biscuits and sourdough bread with grilled-to-perfection Alaska salmon. Russian tea, coffee or iced tea and lemonade chilled with glacier ice and special-recipe ginger cookies complete the meal. Beer and wine are available at an additional charge. Bears often visit the barbecue pit area in search of leftovers! Before your flight back to Juneau, take a guided nature walk or soak in the serenity of a place barely touched by time.

Mendenhall Glacier By Helicopter & Guided Walk

Travel into the Ice Age of the famous Mendenhall Glacier by helicopter to enjoy breathtaking vistas of rain forests, alpine ridges, and mountain peaks, as well as icy spires, deep blue crevasses and meltwater pools. Explore the glacier's surface on foot with your guide before returning to Juneau. Bring binoculars and a camera.

Helicopter Flightseeing & Glacier Trek

The trek is a two-hour hike through a glacial icescape. There is an early emphasis on learning the proper use of the mountaineering gear (rain- and windproof outerwear, gloves, boots, ice axe, crampons, harness, helmet) and understanding the glacier features and hazards so that remote areas of the glacier can be accessed during the trek. The trek includes more physical activity than the Glacier Walkabout, interspersed with detailed explanations of the glacier environment and surrounding area. Participants should be comfortable hiking for two hours over uneven and sometimes steep terrain. This trek is both adventurous and easy--no experience required. Bring your camera!

Untouched Alaskan wilderness awaits you on this premier fly fishing quest. Combine the highlights of Southeast Alaska with classic floatplanes, world-renowned fishing in remote waters, experienced local guides and abundant wildlife in a pristine wilderness setting.
