The grandeur of Alaska will thrill and delight you on this unforgettable, multi-glacier flightseeing tour. Your floatplane flightseeing adventure begins as your aircraft departs from Juneau's waterfront to fly past waterfalls and lush green rain forests en route to five distinctly different majestic glaciers of the 1,500-square-mile Juneau Icefield. Soar over the deep crevasses and azure blue meltwater pools of the Norris, Hole-In-The-Wall, East and West Twin Glaciers, plus the mighty five-mile-wide Taku Glacier. Of the 36 named glaciers of the Juneau Icefield, the Taku Glacier, five miles wide at its base, is the only glacier that is actually advancing, not retreating. The views and photo opportunities are terrific. Rain or shine, bring your camera to capture the magical memories this trip is sure to provide.
Notes:
All participants enjoy a window seat for enhanced viewing and a headset for hearing the narration.

This tour provides a rare opportunity to focus on photographing the stunning scenery of the Chilkat Valley. The trip begins with a 45-minute ride via a shuttle catamaran along the steep-walled fjord that connects Skagway to Haines. Arrive in Haines and meet your photography guide. Your guide will select his/her favorite locations and provide you with ample time to set up the best shots. In your small group of eight or less, the emphasis is on taking time for excellent photography, rather than the photography being incidental. Even a simple "point and shoot" camera will work for this experience. Bring all your photo gadgets with you - you are assured space for your equipment in the transportation. Your guide will suggest shots, and discuss issues such as exposure, use of flash and depth of field. (S)he is well versed in the wildlife and wildflowers at any given time of the season, and will ensure that you adhere to ethical wildlife viewing protocols. With a small group, the guide has the flexibility to pick and choose locations that fit the group and the seasonal conditions. Some locations lend themselves to longer or shorter stops, depending on the light, wildlife activity and weather. You may end up photographing bears along the Chilkoot River (most reliable after August 1), an explosion of shooting star wildflowers at Chilkat State Park, or young bald eagles exercising their wings at the edge of their nests. The key is flexibility rather than adherence to a rigid schedule. The tour includes a boxed lunch so that you can eat when you want to and focus on getting the shots that you desire. You'll return to Skagway via shuttle catamaran.
Notes:
This is a guide's choice tour so the above outline is an example of how the tour will be run. Feel free to bring a manual camera if you have one. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.

Leave the crowds behind and discover the hidden jewel of Alaska, just 15 miles (a 40-minute fast-ferry ride) away from Skagway. The small town of Haines is as close to Northern Exposure as you can get without the television script. Your tour begins in Skagway and takes you on a journey into the 48,000-acre Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve for a wilderness adventure among towering mountains, hanging glaciers and unspoiled nature. You will view massive bald eagle nests and the possibility of sighting moose in their natural habitat is very good. You will access the roadless portion of the Preserve in a specially designed, flat-bottom riverboat, and travel miles of different channels of the Chilkat River. This boat is designed for this silt-laden river, and is equipped with eco-friendly four-stroke outboard motors, so the guide is usually able to hold against the current or turn around and go back to give you the best photo opportunities, should you spot eagles or other wildlife. The animals are used to the boats as this tour has operated in this eco-system for 21 years. The boat is uncovered for better wildlife and scenic, photographic opportunities, but extra jackets and large waterproof, windproof lap blankets keep you warm and dry on your adventure. Join your hosts at their private property with modern restroom facilities. Enjoy an old-fashioned hot dog roasted over the open barbecue and sample fabulous Chilkat Valley chili as you relax in the heated pavilion or sit by the campfire and visit with your hosts and fellow adventurers. You will return to Skagway with a greater respect for nature, Alaska and the residents who call this rugged wilderness their home.
Notes:
Inclement weather gear provided. Meal may be served either before or after the river tour, meal time appropriate.Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.

Bear sighting guarantee!
Enjoy an exclusive wildlife experience at the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary - a private reserve located in forested mountains at rustic Herring Cove. You'll view black bears (guaranteed) in their natural habitat as your guide leads you along an improved trail through the heart of dense rain forest, among tall stands of hemlock, spruce and Alaska cedar. This pristine environment is home to black bears, eagles, seals, a variety of birds, and many other species of wildlife attracted by the abundant salmon runs in resource-rich Eagle Creek and Estuary. Few locations in Alaska offer the wildlife viewing opportunities found within this forest sanctuary. A large concentration of black bears gathers here to feed on the huge runs of salmon that return to spawn in the stream. Bald eagles wait for scraps left by the bears. Mink, marten and wolves frequent the area, and seals can usually be seen near the mouth of the stream feeding on the bountiful fish harvest. Seasonal ecosystem changes result in varying levels of wildlife activity. Your exclusive tour with a naturalist will take you to a restricted-access boardwalk, leading to a private viewing platform overlooking Eagle Creek. This provides a unique opportunity to view bears at close range as they fish for salmon in the stream. You'll also pause at other off-the-beaten-track wildlife viewing spots on this bear search. To minimize resource impacts, this wildlife tour is only available to small groups and on a limited basis. This is an in-depth experience for the nature-lover and photographer. Ample time is provided to observe the wildlife activity. At the conclusion of the mile-long trail hike you will have an opportunity to interact with and feed Alaskan reindeer, walk through the historic Herring Bay Lumber Company sawmill established by legendary pioneer Ben Fleenor, see birds of prey up close at Alaska Wildlife Foundation's raptor exhibit and visit with a Native master carver crafting a totem. Enjoy a snack and beverage at the General Store. Transportation to and from the sanctuary is by private motor coach.
Notes:
The tour operator guarantees that at least one bear will be sighted by your group. If not, you will receive an automatic $80 per person refund to your on-board account. A bear sighting is defined as anyone in the group seeing a bear. Tour order may vary to maximize bear-viewing potential. Tour operates rain or shine; rain ponchos provided. Wear comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing. Each guest will receive admission to the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center included with purchase of this tour. Minimum age is 12 years.
