Sample Adventure Tour.
Sit back, strap yourself in, and hit the accelerator for the off-road adventure of a lifetime! Mountain trails will lead you through a timber harvested area offering the perfect venue for off-road challenges. Learn about the history, culture and economy of Ketchikan as you are transported by motor coach to this wilderness base camp. Upon arrival, you will receive a safety briefing and gear up in preparation for the exciting 1.5-hour guided trek. After your introduction to the karts, your caravan will set out to explore the remote back country along several miles of improved forest trail. Your guide will be in the lead and trailing kart throughout your adventure.
You will feel the rush of adrenaline at the start of the journey as you navigate an obstacle course in your custom designed Tomcar. The course will test your ability to traverse through the remaining wilderness. A comfortable pace is maintained as you thread your way around steep curves, climbing to reveal unparalleled views of the Tongass National Forest, Behm Canal and Alaska's fabled Inside Passage. This private reserve is only available to a small number of visitors. Stops are made along the way to soak up the grandeur and beauty of this lush land. Enjoy a snack and beverage, then drivers and passengers have the opportunity to switch positions for the return trip. Be prepared to watch for wildlife along the way where eagles, deer or bears are frequently sighted.

Sample Wilderness & Wildlife Tours.
Begin your experience with the thrill of taking off from the Ketchikan waterfront by DeHavilland Beaver floatplane with a veteran Alaska bush pilot, on this unique wildlife expedition. Only available to a small number of visitors, your pilot will guide you to a remote site in the Tongass National Forest noted for its salmon rich streams and abundant wildlife. A 20-minute flight takes you by historic homesteads and over the sparkling waters of Alaska's fabled Inside Passage. View an unfolding landscape of forested mountains and pristine lakes on your way to a choice remote viewing location. Upon landing you will be met by an Alaskan naturalist, and driven approximately one mile by van, along a forest road, to a trailhead. A short hike along an improved trail leads to a viewing platform overlooking a salmon spawning stream. Few forest locations in North America offer the wildlife viewing opportunities found here!
From the viewing platform, you will look down on the stunning rapids as the fast flowing creek cascades towards the sea and the large numbers of salmon in the stream congregate to complete their spawning journey. This is where black bear gather to feed on runs of pink, Coho, and Chum salmon, as they head upstream to spawn. Bald eagles perch in the surrounding trees waiting for fish scraps left by the bears. In addition, a variety of birds, Sitka black-tailed deer, mink and marten frequent the area. Ample time is allowed to observe the wildlife activity in this forest ecosystem before the hike back to the van and the short drive to your awaiting aircraft. Interpretation by your pilot and guide will enhance this truly intimate natural experience, perfect for the nature lover and photographer.

Experience two of Ketchikan's highlights on this combination eco-tour and crab feast. Begin your adventure with a 30 minute fully narrated motorcoach tour to the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary. Next, enjoy a fully guided eco-tour walk into a dense Rainforest located at Herring Cove. Then you will cross elevated platforms to expand the possible wildlife sightings. Possible wildlife sightings include bald eagles, black bear, seals, deer, and a variety of birds. See a Native totem carver at work and visit a Bald Eagle sanctuary, before re-boarding your motorcoach for a 10-minute drive to George Inlet Lodge. At the lodge, dine on your crab feast: includes oriental salad, steamed baby red potatoes, and Dungeness crab, dipped in drawn butter! Eat quickly - a second helping will be on its way shortly! A rainforest adventure for those seeking excitement and exhilaration that features 7 zip lines, Alaska's longest skybridge, 250 foot long mountain slide, and rappelling!
Your adventure begins with a ride up the steep hillside in a custom all-terrain 4x4 Mercedes Unimog, to the outfitting chalet. After outfitting and orientation, it is an uphill hike via an improved rainforest trail to a ground-based practice zip line, where your guides introduce you to zipping. This is your introduction to 5,200 feet of dual cable ziplines, intersected with a 250 foot long suspension bridge, providing an aerial view of Bear Creek and a forest waterfall. You will rappel to the ground from the last tree platform. Speeding down the mountain slide will be one of the highlights of your zipline adventure. Board the Unimog for a forest hillside descent and transportation to the base camp, where you will be presented with a special award in recognition of your achievement. View your action photograph and shop in the General Store before departure for the dock.
