Next, enjoy a fully guided eco-tour walk into a dense Rainforest located at Herring Cove. Then you will cross elevated platforms to expand the possible wildlife sightings. Possible wildlife sightings include bald eagles, black bear, seals, deer, and a variety of birds. See a Native totem carver at work and visit a Bald Eagle sanctuary, before re-boarding your motorcoach for a 10-minute drive to George Inlet Lodge. Sit back, strap yourself in, and hit the accelerator for the off-road adventure of a lifetime! Mountain trails will lead you through a timber harvested area offering the perfect venue for off-road challenges. Learn about the history, culture and economy of Ketchikan as you are transported by motor coach to this wilderness base camp. Upon arrival, you will receive a safety briefing and gear up in preparation for the exciting 1.5-hour guided trek. After your introduction to the karts, your caravan will set out to explore the remote back country along several miles of improved forest trail. Your guide will be in the lead and trailing kart throughout your adventure.
You will feel the rush of adrenaline at the start of the journey as you navigate an obstacle course in your custom designed Tomcar. The course will test your ability to traverse through the remaining wilderness. A comfortable pace is maintained as you thread your way around steep curves, climbing to reveal unparalleled views of the Tongass National Forest, Behm Canal and Alaska's fabled Inside Passage. This private reserve is only available to a small number of visitors. Stops are made along the way to soak up the grandeur and beauty of this lush land. Enjoy a snack and beverage, then drivers and passengers have the opportunity to switch positions for the return trip. Be prepared to watch for wildlife along the way where eagles, deer or bears are frequently sighted.

This eco-tour features 10 zip lines, 2 suspension bridges, a beach landing, all-terrain vehicle, and the historic Treadwell Gold Mine. Glide above the treetops in a rich rainforest on 6,000 feet of dual cable zip lines, suspension bridges and a ground-based trail network. Board a high-speed vessel for a beach landing at the remote Treadwell Mine Site. Your guides will outfit you with state of the art safety equipment and provide a detailed safety briefing, before transporting you by a 4x4 off-road vehicle up the densely forested hillside to the first zip line tree platform. This is your introduction to nearly a mile of high tension cables linking a network of platforms mounted high in carefully selected old growth spruce trees.
Throughout this nature based adventure you will be surrounded by the sights and sounds of Alaska's rainforest. Start with a narrated tour through a historic part of Juneau on your way to North Douglas Island. Don protective raingear, boots and lifejackets, and learn the paddling techniques you'll need to handle your kayak. Then join a friend or new traveling companion in your two-person craft and you're off to explore!
Against a backdrop of forested slopes, nearby peaks and the spectacular Mendenhall, you're on course for an informative and memorable tour of Fritz Cove and Auke Bay. In small groups of six kayaks, you're able to stealthily approach wildlife. Bald eagles and their nests, herons, shorebirds and waterfowl are all common sights. Porpoises and even humpback whales occasionally surface for air. If you're lucky, you might see a humpback's enormous tail fluke. You'll also visit the Mendenhall Wetlands, a protected habitat teeming with more than 140 species of birds, nearly a dozen different mammals and an abundance of marine life. Along the way, your guide will satisfy your curiosity about local flora and fauna, and explain the history behind landmarks such as Smuggler's Cove.
